Random Thoughts We should give credit where credit is due. The GOP has achieved something completely unique in the annals of conspiracy theories. They are to be congratulated for it. Most conspiracy theories tend to break down because they have too many moving parts to be plausible let alone possible. Take a look at almost any JFK assassination story and you will see what I mean. Ditto the more popular 911 fictions. What the Republicans have done with Benghazi, however, is one of a kind. It doesn’t have half enough moving parts to be plausible let alone possible. Only the “thinkers” inside the GOP’s alternate reality bubble could have worked out the invention of a bicycle with no wheels. Contrary to popular belief (by which I mean the empty babble of the 24 hour news cycle), Democrats and Republican have been able to agree on many issues and have been able to pass legislation on same. They have agreed to negate a key portion of the Constitution by passing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This allows the President to, randomly and without any legitimate criteria, declare anyone he chooses to be a “terrorist”. The Army is then authorized to detain said “terrorist” indefinitely, without charge, or access to counsel. This may not, at first glance, seem to be an event of any importance to most Americans until one realizes that the Pentagon considers public demonstrations such as Occupy to be low level terrorism. Send home the cops with their pepper spray. They are no longer needed. The Republicans and Democrats have been able to agree that Monsanto should never be held legally responsible for the result of their poisons. They have also agreed to exempt themselves from insider trading laws. These are just a few of the wonderful and nearly miraculous benefits of bipartisanship. If this appears to you to be an argument in favor of putting a third political party into power you would be inaccurate. What we need is a second party to expose and oppose the smoke and mirrors of the Republicrats. They are, in practical application, one party which represents the wealthy. The “two party” illusion is our greatest obstacle to progress. Throughout history things which have most helped and advanced any civilized society have been done first by individuals or small groups of people. Governments have never led progress. They have always had to run to catch up to progress.
